ABOUT CLAUDIA PASTOMÁS
Claudia Pastomás (Valencia, 1998) is an artist trained in Fine Arts and in the Master’s Degree in Artistic Production at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Her practice develops in an old woodworking workshop that serves as both a material archive and a starting point for a process‐based investigation focused on residues, craftsmanship, and the material culture of both manual and industrial production. With an almost archaeological approach, she reactivates obsolete objects, ornaments, and materials to reflect on shifting production systems and how these elements engage with a postmodern present. Her work combines installation and painting, exploring limits, remnants, and transformations within the medium.
She has received recognitions such as the “Best Emerging Artist” Award by Mango at SWAB Barcelona, the residency at Piramidón Centre d’Art Contemporani, and the Faustino & Willy Ramos Fellowship. Recent exhibitions include Ensayo de un espacio (Sistema Studio, Madrid), La extrañeza de su exposición (MUA, Alicante), Unir la grieta (Galería Vangar, Valencia), and Repols (Fundación Chirivella Soriano), along with participation in group shows at CCCC Valencia, COAM Madrid, Warsaw, and Murcia.
